Depressing to read that, because, as a writer, I'm living it, sort of. A BA, no MFA, but a life full of experiences, and a resume of four commercially published books and six self-published books, and I seem to be as welcome in publishing as the proverbial beggar at a banquet. Yes, the American MFA Industrial Complex. Great tag for what bedevils us. I post about this mess often because I am living it. And some male writers seemed to think I'm complaining or whining. But, as Bob Dylan sang, "if something's not right it's wrong."

Imagine if we did to the NBA what the Sheocracy has done to publishing, and quietly and thoroughly, shut out all the black players, replacing them with fifty year old pot-bellied white men.

I'm so sick of what has been happening in publishing and the fact that so few male authors have the balls to say anything about it.

Congrats on this article, and I'm looking forward to the next one of this sad subject.
